"read the bread book" says every anarchist I know all the time. Ok ok, I'll read it

Me, one hour later: "READ THE BREAD BOOK"

___

For real though, so far it is pretty great

@paranoid thanks. A longtime acquaintance changed her handle to conquestbread months back, confusing me

@cosullivan happy to help in some way!

Gotta say, I see why people would feel the urge to do that. The chapters are all titles of pretty hefty topics (e.g. expropriation, food, dwellings, the need for luxury) followed by very cogent explanations and arguments

Have to keep reminding myself that it's from the 1800s

@thrype «The Conquest of Bread» by peter kropotkin

I am reading the penguin classics translation⁰ (b.c. the idea of an anarchist text being declared a classic by penguin tickled me)

but it is also in the anarchist library¹, as well as available from ak press² (and has its own url apparently³)
